Ellsworth Community College's defense held Marshalltown Community College much lower than their 58.9 points per game average, picking up Iowa Community College Athletic Conference win number two by a 57-37 final.
ECC was able to build a 10-point lead after the opening quarter, on top 14-4. The Panthers added to the lead and led 29-11 at the break.
The Tigers did win the third period, outscoring the hosts 11-8, but still trailed 40-19 with 10 minutes to go. The advantage swelled to 20 points in the fourth quarter for ECC's second win in a row – despite being down players due to injury.
