Ellsworth Community College recorded a dominant performance versus Marshalltown Community College. The first time the two met, ECC won by 20 points. The second installment was a similar lopsided final with the Panthers on top 70-47.
It was a two possession contest after the first 10 minutes with ECC coming out on top 17-13. The visitors really turned on the offense in the second stanza and outscored the Tigers 20-9 to lead 37-22 at the break.
The second half was closer, but MCC never clawed their way out of the deficit with the spread 50-32 heading into the fourth period.
The Panthers shot well from the floor, making 42.9 percent of their shots and draining 48 percent from downtown. ECC hit 12 baskets from deep with Sofia Berraguero Beltran torching the Tigers. She was five of seven from beyond the arc and finished with a game-high 23 points. Yaiza Soriano Balaguer was also in double figures with 14 points. ECC also took care of the ball and only turned it over eight times.
