This season’s recognized athletes include:
Juliana Nunez Restrepo, Outside Hitter
A six-rotation outside hitter, Juliana closed her Panther career with exceptional achievements, securing her place in the ECC record books. She finished 3rd all-time in single-season kills, top 5 in career kills, and 2nd in career kills per set. Her dominance extended beyond campus as she ranked second in the entire conference in kills per set. Juliana’s all-around impact and heavy offensive load were instrumental to the Panthers’ success.
Anthea Deweer, Middle Blocker
Making impressive strides from her freshman to sophomore seasons, Anthea emerged as the team’s blocking leader and a reliable offensive force in the middle. Her growth, consistency, and high-energy presence made her a standout contributor on both sides of the ball.
Vera Hojnacki, Setter
In her debut season, freshman setter Vera stepped into a leadership role, orchestrating the Panthers’ offense with poise. She now holds the No. 2 spot in ECC history for both single-season assists and assists per set, and she also ranked second in the conference in assists per set—a remarkable beginning to her collegiate career.
Coach Sara Jesse praises the honorees stating “Juliana and Anthea finished their Panther careers on a high note with these postseason honors. Being a 6-rotation outside, Juliana carried a big load for us this season... She was also second in the entire conference in kills per set. Anthea made a lot of jumps from her freshman to sophomore year... Her consistent energy and effort never went unnoticed. Our freshman setter, Vera, had a solid first season leading our offense... Vera was also second in the entire conference in assists per set. Congrats to these three and to the entire team on a great season!”
The Panther Athletic Department extend their congratulations to Juliana, Anthea, and Vera, and celebrate the entire roster for a season defined by grit, growth, and memorable accomplishments.
