ECC sends four to Worthington Open

Ellsworth Community College sent just four wrestlers to the Worthington Open on Saturday. None of them placed, going a combined 4-8 on the day.

Nicholas Fischer won twice, picking up a 17-2 technical fall against Iowa Western's Jeremy Burrnet and a medical forfeit against Brody Hoversten of Northwestern College at 157.

Jiraiya Fonseca wrestled at 197 and is back on the mat following a concussion. He went 1-2 with a pin in 1:01 against Iowa Lakes' Lincoln McCarty.

At 285, Tafari Parker picked up ECC's other win. He started his day with a fall in 3:42 over Northwestern's Rocco Sauer and finished 1-2.

Gabe Brazzel lost two after starting with a bye at 141.

The Panthers are back in action on Wednesday at NIACC.
