Coach Christian Hoey enters his first season with the Ellsworth Community College Panthers as an assistant coach with the Men’s Basketball Program. Most recently serving 2 seasons as the Video Coordinator at Gardner-Webb University. At Gardner-Webb, Hoey contributed to scouting reports, defensive breakdowns, and official visit coordination, while also assisting with recruit evaluation, player development, and all film edits. He supported the staff in multiple roles, including team operations and statistical tracking, and also was an Assistant Coach for the Development team.

Hoey’s coaching experience also includes three seasons as an assistant coach for the JB Pack Elite 15U 3SSB program, where he led recruiting efforts, tournament logistics.

Before beginning his coaching journey, the North Carolina native was a multi-sport athlete in high school, earning three varsity letters each in football and basketball while also competing in baseball. He received All-Conference and All-District honors in basketball which lead him to Gardner-Webb, where he spent two years playing on the team. 

Hoey earned his Bachelor’s degree in Sport Studies from East Carolina University and his Master’s degree in Sport Management at Gardner-Webb. He brings a strong background in video analysis, player evaluation and development, team operations, along with technical skills.
