Ellsworth Community College hosted newcomers to the conference and eighth-place Central Community College (Neb.) and picked up a 10-point win, 89-79.
ECC (15-2, 6-2) wasted little time in taking the lead. The hosts built a 46-32 advantage at the half. The Raiders (8-10, 3-6) did cut into the deficit and outscored the Panthers 47 to 43 in the second half - it wasn't enough to overcome the 14-point difference.
The major stat contrast came from the glass once again. ECC nabbed 56 rebounds, 14 more than their opponent. In the Panthers wins this season, they have nabbed 50 or more boards seven times.
Of the 10 players that saw court time, everyone scored for the hosts with five in double figures. Leading the way was Rav Randhawa, who drained four of the team's eight three-pointers and ended with 22 points. He added five assists to his total. Jacob Khounsourath finished with 13 points, five rebounds, two assists and a pair of steals. Jonovan Wilkinson nearly had a double-double with 11 points and eight rebounds. Dan Pembele (10 points, seven rebounds) and Tanner Berggren (10 points) were also in double digits. Jayden Pretty led in rebounding with 11.
ECC hits the road and plays at Estherville versus Iowa Lakes – one of the places they have struggled in recent years, and then at No. 13 Iowa Western on Saturday.
