Ellsworth Community College is proud to announce that more than 129 student-athletes have been recognized by the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) as Spring 2026 Academic All-Region honorees. ECC earned recognition across six sports — baseball, basketball (men's and women's), football, softball, volleyball, and wrestling — reflecting the program's enduring commitment to excellence both on the field and in the classroom.
The ICCAC Academic All-Region award recognizes student-athletes who meet the conference's academic standards while balancing the demands of competition, coursework, and campus involvement. First Team Academic All-Region honors are awarded to student-athletes carrying a 3.5–4.0 GPA, while Second Team honors recognize those with a 3.0–3.49 GPA. Student-athletes may qualify using either their semester or cumulative GPA, whichever is higher, and must meet the minimum credit hours required for NJCAA eligibility.
"This recognition is a reflection of the character and work ethic our student-athletes bring every single day. Balancing the demands of college athletics with a rigorous academic workload is no small feat, and to see so many of our students honored at this level speaks volumes about who they are. We are incredibly proud of each one of them, and this is a testament to the culture our coaches, faculty, and staff have helped build here at Ellsworth" said ECC Athletic Director, Nate Forsyth.
Statewide, the ICCAC recognized more than 2,500 student-athletes for their academic achievements during the spring semester, with more than 1,650 earning First Team honors and nearly 900 Second Team honors.
