Due to weather, three-game set between Ellsworth Community College and Iowa Lakes Community College was played Friday and resumed on Monday with the final two contests.

During game one, the Panthers won by a 20-10 final, and then claimed a win in the finale on Monday by a 13-3 score. The Lakers salvaged a victory in game two, 17-8.

Jacob Koerselman had a huge offensive series. Through the three games he was 9-13 at the plate with four home runs and 16 runs knocked in.

ECC held a 9-0 lead in game one before the Lakers rallied to cut the deficit to 9-6 following the top of the fourth. The Panthers resumed control with a four-spot in the bottom of the inning and added two in the seventh and eight in the eighth frame to take a 20-10 win.

During that contest, both teams combined for 38 hits, but Iowa Lakes committed five of the game's six errors.

Koerselman was 3-6 with a homer and six knocked in, while Eric McGill added three hits, a double and four RBI. Lucas Bruhl was 4-4 with a homer, two doubles and 3RBI.

Iowa Lakes bashed out 17 hits during their 17-8 victory in game two. ECC produced another good offensive game, with Koerselman driving in three runs with two hits, a homer and a two-bagger. McGill added a three-hit game, which included a homer and 2RBI. Dillon Carlson was 2-2 at the plate with an RBI in the loss.

The Lakers (8-14, 5-11) opened that game up with a six-run top of the seventh.

ECC earned the 10-run seven inning 13-3 win by putting up three runs in four different innings of game three.

Koerselman drove in seven runs with a 4-4 two-homer performance at the plate. Gavin Doll also left the yard twice with two long balls while driving in three.

The series left the Panthers with an overall record of 14-24 and 5-8 in Region XI.
