IOWA FALLS – The Ellsworth Community College Women's Basketball program will offer two camps this summer. An individual camp for 3rd through 8th grade students will be held June 27-29, and a team camp will be held July 17 & 18.
The individual kids camp will be offered in two sessions, with 3rd through 5th graders meeting from 9 to 11:30 am and 6th through 8th graders meeting from noon to 2:30 pm. The camp will be run by ECC coaching staff and players, who will work with participants on basic fundamentals of basketball. Skills included in the camp will be ball handling, shooting, passing, defensive stance, and positioning as well as fun games. The cost of the camp is $35 if paid before June 15 and $40 after June 15; the cost includes a t-shirt.
The team camp offers teams three games per day with 20 minute halves on a running clock until the final two minutes of each half. Bonus free throws will start after the 10th team foul and will always be 1 and 1. The camp is for girls on varsity and JV teams. The cost is $130 per team before June 15 and $150 after June 15. Referees will be provided, and the concession stand will be available both days.
Camps will be held at Dittmer Gymnasium located on the ECC Campus, 1100 College Ave, Iowa Falls.
